The first time I came across the name Malala Yousafzai was probably when I found out who Time Magazine's Most Influential People in 2013 were. I was really much more interested in the profiles of Daniel Day-Lewis, Aamir Khan, Kevin Systrom, Jimmy Kimmel and Steven Spielberg. But oh well Sarah, you have the magazine in your hand you might as well just read everyone's profile and then I found Malala...
Malala is a girl, younger than I am, but now I'll refer to her as a woman 'cause SHE IS STRONG. She's an activist, of international acclaim, giving a voice to the myriad of girls who have been denied education in Pakistan and now the world, I guess.
For those who don't know, a multitude of girls in the world are denied education mainly 'cause of the morbid desires some men have to make wives of thirteen year-olds. Anyways, she's been speaking and acting...a lot, I'm challenged to do something as a girl.
Anyways, did I mention that they're so threatened by her they tried to assassinate her (she was shot, severely)...People please, you stepped on her shoulders, then you tried to pommel her into the ground with your feet. You only made her stand taller and you fell in the process.
In honor of her struggle and tireless efforts, I urge everyone to sign this petition at http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/stand-with-malala-end-the-education-emergency-3#share for the promotion of worldwide female education :)
