2014 Academy Award Nominations Announced!

Announced today, Thursday, January 16, 2014, by Thor star Chris Hemsworth and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the Oscar noms are out!

Meanwhile, here's a look at the theater where the nominations were announced.

Gravity swept away 10 nominations while 12 Years A Slave had 9.

What some of us don't know is that The Great Gatsby actually wasn't left out and has 2 nominations (Best Costume and Best Production Design).

Some of us wanted Benedict Cumberbatch's performance as Khan to be nominated. Sorry, guys. But, Star Trek Into Darkness wasn't left out! It has a nomination for Best Visual Effects. Deserved it.

See the list of nominees anyways.
