I don't know why I postponed this post for so long. Anyways, here it is.
So before a show begins, a voice over says, '...are you ready for friendship, passion, love and revenge.' That's just one way of saying, '...lot's of drama here, come on in!' And when you do venture into the world of Telemundo, that's practically all you'll find.
I do love some of the telenovelas though and I remain faithful to them from the first episode, when we find out that the protagonist is someone who doesn't know her father till the last when we see the nurse who said she was dead at birth and kept her away from her family, confess to this on her deathbed.
They have some well plotted storylines, however, I'm just going to point out a few 'lessons' I've learnt from Telemundo
1. Firstly, there is always a COMPANY, and the number of people interested in taking over is like 3/4 of the characters.
'I'll soon take over the (probably compound surname) family company/fortune/ranch'
Most common line
2. The man you though was your uncle, mother's best male friend or family chauffeur, is your father! And you definitely won't find out the way Luke Skywalker did.
I just had to put this in here. Hilarious.
3. Slaps are very common means of communication.
What's with the red wig anyways? |
4. Everyone always has the same one priest.
5. Same goes for the doctor and he can treat anything.
6. Hardly anybody marries the the person they love initially. They are always bottlenecks and it will only happen at the end.
7. There's also no show if someone doesn't get pregnant by someone who's not her husband and use it to blackmail her husband into staying. Sometimes, there's no baby at all!
Beware, pillow underneath! |
8. The events in the lives of the characters always end up on national TV. Somehow.
9. Speaking of companies, there's always a reading-of-last-will-and-testmanent session. Like always.
10. Finally, like the voiceover says, do not watch if you're not ready for Friendship, Passion, Love and Revenge, which equals DRAMA!#
Have a good day guys.
